The theme of my oil paintings focuses on nature in general, but that of the ocean in particular remains more than ever in my news with large format representations of it on the high seas, often furious, angry... and above all, in motion!.
A movement whose dynamics I seek to transmit and make perceptible.
Faced with the spectacle offered to me by the ocean, opposite feelings cohabit, alternate like those of fear, awe and those of wonder, fascination.The fear of the infinity of dimensions and horizons, of the infinity of dark depths.The fascination of a living mass which is agitated, calm or unleashed and which locks up in its belly a multitude of innumerable lives.
In this universe, are added representations of the Arctic and some emblematic figures of the depths of the ocean.We sail from the seabed to the surface.
All of my paintings give a major importance to this "global public good" which constitutes a fundamental and vital environment for humanity.We have moved in a short time from a distant and hostile space, an inexhaustible reservoir, to a territory at the heart of ecology on a global scale.The ocean is a cultural and heritage value of the first order. Its light, its colors, its strength have always inspired myths and legends, it always arouses the imagination.A personal imagination that I interpret through my paintings.
In the theme of the environment, I am one of the many fans of the fabulous and very talented artist Zaria Forman who, with a particular and singular technique (finger pastel), produces work of great environmental sensitivity.•♦•
The raging ocean rushed its immense waves, like dark and shining mountains. Nothing around but a living mass, in a terrifying dance of giant jolts. A darkness cut by rays of light allowed the gaze to catch the peaks of a dark snow-covered sea of ephemeral foam.
